Are photos required with N-400 application?
Applicants who don’t reside outside the United States are not required to attach photographs to N-400 Application. Their photographs will be taken during biometrics appointment at the Application Support Center.
Only applicants who reside overseas must submit two identical color photos (taken recently) with form N-400 Application.
Requirements for passport-style photographs include white or off-white background, thin glossy paper, and absence of retouch. Size should be equal to 2″ x 2″. The photos have to capture frontal view of full face. You must be bare-headed if it is compatible with your religious beliefs. From top of hair to bottom of chin, head height must measure 1″ to 1 3/8″. Eye height must be between 1 1/8″ to 1 3/8″ from bottom of photograph. Print your name and A-Number (if available) with a felt-tipped pen or pencil on the backside of the photograph.
