What is the fee for Form I-131A?
You may check U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services official website for the latest fees. Current filing fee for Application for Travel Document (Carrier Documentation), or Form I-131A, is $575 (no biometric services fee).
Payment should be conducted via USCIS online payment system by a credit card, debit card or U.S. bank account. Check payment, money order and fee waiver are not available for Form I-131A.
The advantage is that the fee can be paid online from any corner of the globe. However, you should be very attentive while entering your personal information, such as first name, last names, birth day, A Number (they must be the same as on your green card or re-entry permit).
The difference of Form I-131A from other USCIS forms is that filing fee must be paid before submitting the form and related documents. Therefore, you should show evidence of your payment at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy when you personally file Form I-131A. A copy of the payment confirmation page or a copy of the e-mail payment receipt notice may serve as a proof. If some error occurred during the payment, you have to inform a USCIS international field office or a U.S. Consulate or Embassy of error message and ask for assistance.
