Why can the green card renewal application be denied?
The fact is that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is entitled to the right to deny the renewal or replacement of a green card. There are a few common reasons why the Form I-90 can be denied:
- In case there were some serious crimes you were involved with you are bound to seek immigration lawyer advice before you opt for a green card renewal application. Due to the presence of a serious criminal record, minor crimes like parking fines are not taken into consideration, you may be denied the right to renew or replace your green card.
- In case any false or incorrect information was provided your request may be denied as well. In such a case, you can expect no filling or biometric services refund.
- In case a wrong form of application was used your request may be denied. It should be pointed out that conditional permanent residents whose green card is about to expire in the next 90 days should file Form I-751 or Form I-829 instead of file Form I-90 in order for the conditions of the residentship to be removed.
- In case you were deported from the USA by a court. Deportation is one of the most serious reasons why your renewal request can be denied. It is best that you consult a lawyer on such matters.
