Purpose of Form

There is a special procedure which you should follow in order to extend existing family benefits or you want to get these benefits for the very first time. In this instance, you have to fill USCIS Form I-817 (Application for Family Unity Benefits). You will get the possibility to live and work in the US for two years in case of submitting your application.

It’s strongly recommended to be honest during filling this form and describe as many circumstances as possible. You should understand that your lie during filling this form may become the cause of criminal proceedings. In addition, keep in mind that USCIS may consider this form for six months, that’s why you should fill it right after realizing the necessity of benefits under the Family Unity Program and before expiring the previous period.
