Form N-648 | Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions
Purpose of Form
If you want to become a citizen of the United States of America in the future, you have to pass special exams, including an English language exam and American civics exam. It’s the obligation of all people who apply for naturalization. However, there are some exceptions which can give you a possibility to avoid these exams. For example, people who have developmental or physical challenges can find very difficult to pass this exam, that’s why the US government allows you to waive the examination requirements if you can prove your status. It’s only allowed for people who have mental impairment, developmental disability, or physical disability.
Special Instructions
If you want to use this opportunity, a licensed clinical psychologist has to submit a USCIS Form N-648 (Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions). It has to be submitted with Form N-400.
