Download form I-589, asylum application and suspension of expulsion. To apply for asylum in the United States and to suspend expulsion (“delayed deportation”). You can apply for asylum if you are physically located in the United States and are not a US citizen. Also this form can be used to file an application for protection (in accordance with the Convention against Torture). If you are currently in the Immigration Court: you must file Form I-589 to the Immigration Court.
